Wing:

Equal span, two bay, unstaggered, folding biplane. Top centre section carried above fuselage on steel tube struts, with two sets of parallel interplane struts on either side of the fuselage. Wings have metal structure covered with fabric

Fuselage:

Rectangular section structure, faired to an oval section and covered forward with detachable aluminium panels and aft with fabric. Centre structure, to which are attached the engine mounting, wings, undercarriage and rear portion of fuselage, is of steel tube construction. Rear portion may be either metal or wood

Tail Unit:

Monoplane type. Metal framed, covered with fabric. Balanced rudder and elevators

Landing Gear:

Cross axle vee type. Wheel undercarriage interchangable with twin long single step duralumin floats

Power Plant:

One 570 hp Napier Lion XI water cooled engine

Accommodation:

Pilots seat under cut-out in trailing edge of top wing, with cockpit for either one or two immediately behind. In three seater wireless operator is between pilot and gunner

Armament:

One fixed Vickers gun firing forward and one Lewis gun over back cockpit. Bombs carried under wings. Prone bombing position in fuselage
